The mode of operation of the sheet-spreading magnets is based on the principle that uniform magnetic poles repel each other. Installed on the side of the sheet stack, sheet-spreading magnets produce a similar magnetic induction in the superimposed sheets, so that they are fanned out and singled out.

Sheet-spreading magnets are closed systems in which high-quality ferrite magnets or neodymes are used. These materials guarantee a constant magnetic field over many years.
